MATERIALS AT HAMDI STUDIO
Wood
At Hamdi Studio, each wood slab is carefully selected for its individual charm. Meticulously crafted, the natural beauty is enhanced through skillful treatment, showcasing its unique personality. Our green lumber is air and kiln dried in-house, with each piece treated for durability and robustness.
Unlike traditional market norms that prioritize only “ideal” grain structure, we choose woods with diverse grain patterns, minimizing waste in the timber industry. Recognizing wood as a dynamic, living material, our pieces undergo a natural transformation over time, much like maturing gracefully like fine wine.
Indian Rosewood
Indian Rosewood, or Sheesham, is highly valued for its rich, dark tones and striking grain patterns. Each piece of Indian rosewood contains a history, with grains that may swirl, dance, or flow straight with deep hues ranging from golden browns to purplish blacks. This dense, durable wood is not only tough and resilient but also exudes an undeniable warmth and elegance. Its alluring aesthetic makes it a sought-after material for luxurious furniture pieces, offering deep, inviting colors that enrich any living space.

Acacia wood offers a smooth finish that complements any design aesthetic. Ideal for both traditional and contemporary pieces, acacia’s fine, consistent grain provides a neutral backdrop that enhances the overall form of the furniture. It is especially prized for its resistance to wear and ability to hold up under frequent use, making it a favorite for everything from elegant dining tables to robust cutting boards.
maple
Bold, raw, and unapologetically striking, Maple captures the essence of rustic charm. Known for its rich colors and varied grain patterns, maple offers a vibrant palette of deep browns interspersed with lighter tones, bringing warmth and character to any piece. Maple is ideal for indoor and furniture. Its natural luster and unique grain patterns ensure that each piece of acacia furniture is one of a kind.
Walnut
Walnut wood is celebrated for its deep, chocolate-brown tones that add a touch of sophistication and timeless elegance to any space. The wood’s rich color is beautifully complemented by its straight, occasionally wavy grain, giving it a distinguished appearance. Walnut is not just about looks; it's also incredibly durable and maintains its shape over time, making it perfect for heirloom-quality furniture. Its ability to develop a lustrous patina over time means that walnut pieces only grow more beautiful with age, embodying true, enduring elegance.
Resin
Resin has emerged as a transformative element in the realm of woodworking. Functioning as a robust bonding agent, resin seamlessly melds with solid wood, enhancing structural integrity while fostering a modern aesthetic. This dynamic material not only serves as a practical binding agent but also contributes to the beautification of wooden products.
However, resin’s versatility it’s not just limited to it’s synergy with wooden furniture. Resin is also a standalone material which can be casted in any shape or form. This allows resin to afford an entirely new, vibrant and rich medium for the artist’s creative expression.
